As Bob Brashear reflected on his 40-year career as a pharmacist, he recalled learning early on that a pharmacist’s role is so much more than simply filling prescription bottles with pills. “I remember when I was working as an intern, filling a prescription for a diuretic for a lady. I remembered that she was also on lithium, and I remembered from pharmacy school that there was an interaction between lithium and diuretics,” he said.
