Former B.C. RCMP spokesman Sgt. Peter Thiessen dies

It’s with profound sadness that I share the news of the passing of Sgt. Peter Thiessen (rtd). Peter lost his battle with Cancer this morning while surrounded by his loving family at his home in Summerland. Thiessen was born and raised in Vancouver, joining the RCMP in 1979. His first posting after graduating from the police academy was with the National Criminal Intelligence Branch in the Lower Mainland.
He later spent a few years in Leduc, Alta., but quickly returned to the Lower Mainland when he joined the Port Mann Freeway Patrol and later, the Langley detachment. ....
