Guyanan international Charles left it late to keep Gillingham's Vitality Women's FA Cup journey alive
Otesha Charles’ second-half double fired Gillingham to a pulsating 3-2 victory over Crawley Wasps on a jam-packed Easter Sunday of Vitality Women’s FA Cup second round action.
The sides were level at a goal apiece at the break but Guyanese ace Charles proved the visitors’ Cup hero to haul them into round three.
Lilli Maple scored for the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier League side before half-time after Naomi Cole had put the Sussex hosts in front.

Thursday news briefing for Oxfordshire: all you need to know

Let’s look at the top stories from Oxfordshire (and beyond) this morning.
Top story: John Howell accused a constituent of ‘fascism’ over email.
An Oxfordshire woman was less than impressed when Jon Howell, Conservative MP for Henley, replied to her plea to stop the controversial police bill by accusing her of fascism. Now she’s accusing him of being ‘drunk’.
When Francesca Trotman reached out to her MP to ask him to reconsider his vote in favour of the bill, Mr Howell replied: “So, all you want is an unfettered right to protest for your own cause and to hell with those who want to get on with their own lives. That is not democracy, that is fascism”
