Ondo State Government has reiterated its commitment to reducing malaria scourge in the state. Commissioner for Health, Dr Banji Ajaka, stated this while addressing newsmen as part of the activities marking the 2023 World Malaria Day on Tuesday in Akure. Ethiopia’s National Malaria Control and Elimination Program aims to diagnose all suspected malaria cases within 24 h of fever onset and provide prompt treatment for confirmed cases. This study explored psychosocial factors associated with no-, delayed- and prompt- care-seeking among female caregivers of children under five years with fever in rural Ethiopia. Household surveys were conducted from 2016–2019 among female caregivers (N = 479) of children under five years old with fever in Oromia; Amhara; Southern Nations, Nationalities, and Peoples Region (SNNPR); and Tigray. 700, 000 persons diagnosed with malaria annually in Lagos Prof Abayomi

The Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof Akin Abayomi on Sunday disclosed that 700, 000 persons are diagnosed with malaria annually in Lagos despite the low burden of the disease in the state.
Abayomi in a statement to mark this year’s World Malaria Day, said with the diseases accounting for 70 per cent of outpatient in public health facilities alone, it was germane for Lagosians to stand up and take action against malaria.
The Commissioner further disclosed in 2020, 657,154 patients with malaria were seen in both private and public health facilities in the state.
