We slide you over to the east where the snow is just starting, and it will come down for hours in d.c., all the way up to philadelphia. not so much for new york city, though. this is a major potential storm, and thank goodness, it s happening on the weekend, which means you don t have to try to drive out there and get in it and the kids don t have to try to get home from school in it, but there will be a two-foot swath of snow anywhere from atlantic city to baltimore and west. and in the mountains here, the mountains of west virginia and virginia, especially stanton, all the way back over to to charlottesville, all the way and you get back a little bit farther up toward wheeling, you could be really seeing some of these areas picking up 12 to 25 inches of snow before it s all done. we have the pleasure today to talk to a noaa administrator out in d.c., out there standing in the cold, usually that s our job. dr. jane lubchenco, dr. jane, tell me a little bit about your consideration ....
