Native Hope, a Chamberlain-based nonprofit, says they'll pay the position at $85,000 for three years. In 2021, the Legislature passed the bill and Gov. Kristi Noem signed. But last month Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg called the position an "unfunded mandate."
The grant will provide $85,000 annually for three years.
