Surf company donates backpacks to school Nixon, a leading lifestyle accessory company based in Encinitas, recently donated nearly 400 backpacks to Nativity Prep Academy in honor of Catholic Schools’ Week. Nativity Prep is a private-independent, tuition-free Catholic school in San Diego for those who are the first generation in their families to graduate from college. NEW BEDFORD — Euridice "Eury" Peralta, 44, couldn't talk long about why she needs the help of the Salvation Army's Christmas assistance program. She was also helping three of her clients she serves as a CNA and home health aide to apply for the assistance, and they were waiting for her in the car. Peralta said she's worked as a CNA and Home Health aide for 16 years, but her earnings aren't enough to support her and her three kids. "I work many hours," she said. "But this helps a lot with food, clothing, checks to go to the supermarket and feed my family."
