Researchers see how the brain adapts to different situations using machine learning
Maryland June 5: Researchers at Johns Hopkins University have created a technique that uses artificial intelligence to visualise and monitor changes in the strength of synapses, the junctions that allow nerve cells in the brain to communicate with one another, in living animals. The method, which is detailed in Nature Methods, should help researchers better understand how learning, ageing, injury, and disease affect these connections in human brains.
