Home economics for both boys and girls could help reduce gender role stereotyping of household tasks and promote gender equality.
This was highlighted by the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa while handing over Home Economics equipment to Navesau Adventist High School in Wainibuka, Tailevu.
She says most people think that Home Economics involves sewing aprons, baking and cooking, however, it covers a wide range of studies including nutrition, clothing and textiles, personal finance and wellness. ....
