The Ontario government says its new one-fare transit program will save the average daily GTA transit commuter an estimated $1,600 per year.
Starting Monday, double fares for thousands of Toronto and GTA transit riders will no longer be a thing, as the Ford government's One Fare program takes effect.
The TTC will be part of the one-fare program starting Feb. 26, allowing seamless transfers between TTC and GO Transit, Brampton, Durham, Mississauga and York Region transit systems. Commuters could save up to $1,600 per year.
