Live from the whole truck spall this weekend's includes the racing Let's get the details now from Mike Pence Good morning well there's a week to go before the official end of the Flat season with Champions Day the ask the next Saturday and plenty to look forward to today with the future champions can at Newmarket and one of the biggest handicaps of the entire year on that card the feature race is that you have stakes a field of 70 year olds will go to post a race that often sorts out who is the champion 2 year old of the year this year though Caravaggio almost certain to win that is box safety away in his r.h. Stable and a number on his train as 2 others Churchill and Lancaster bomber taking part Churchill's one as a last for including at Royal Ascot but it's by no means a penalty kick with 2 horses 7 heavens and South Seas representing Britain and both going into the race unbeaten also on the card is a unique race called This Is era which And the reason it's unique this starts in one county and finishes in another name became richer in Suffolk a field of more than 30 will go to post for the race which is over 2 and a quarter miles including last years when a group met a field including Sammy shell for trying to sum up Prescott would look Morris up who is a leading fancy and there are several others from Ireland who are also on many people shortlist and in your shit are they the action is that York is the last day of their season the Coral Springs at $345.00 is the feature race on that card and Captain Colby who won the Portland handicap of this alleged meeting at Doncaster last month is one of the more likely is in what's another very very tough race to sort out and we're a week away from a claiming that he champion trainer and the champion jockey a number on long since has been confirmed as the champion trainer and is looking more and more likely the Jim Crow early who was on the winning sheet again yesterday while winning his 1st ever flight jockeys title and dethrone Sylvester D'Souza and the champion Apprentice will be young Josephine Gordon who will see off the challenge of Tom Mark went on the chance of a new market and York top what is a mouthwatering bill. It certainly is Mike Pence with the weekend's racing it is 740 to 80 minutes so a b.b.c. Mr Trump's remarks of big condemned by senior Republicans he's dismissed them as locker room banter and as apologized but his main rival in the presidential race Hillary Clinton described the recording as horrific. In remarks made before the controversy an advisor to Mr Trump said that if the billionaire became president America would absolutely strike a trade deal with the u.k. Before making an agreement with the e.u. President Obama said in April that the u.k. Would go to the back of the queue for a deal with the u.s. If it voted for BRICs it but Mr Trump's trade and economic advisor damned Mico said Britain would be given priority 1st off there are friends they always supported us we work together they're leaving the e.u. In our estimation for the right reasons they've lost control of the economy the job creation engine so why shouldn't we be working with like minded people before we do it deals with everybody else. Auditions are taking place today at Whole Track theater for a one off opportunity to work for the b.b.c. Across t.v. Radio and online for the City of Culture year look north Peter Levy is one of the judges I'm just hoping that we can find somebody who really really good and in unique who's got a passion and a flavor for the city and who can convey that one of the country's top universities the London School of Economics says some of its academics have been barred from advising the Foreign Office on breaks it because they're not British nationals insiders at the l.s.e. Say the move has provoked shock and anger as Richard Galpin reports sources say a senior Foreign Office official recently told a member of the l.s.e. Staff that only those academics with u.k. Passports would be allowed to continue with consultancy work focusing on BRICs it a group of 8 or 9 academics including some from the e.u. Countries such as Denmark has until now been advising the Foreign Office on the issue the apparent ban has sparked outrage but the Foreign Office is suggesting it's a misunderstanding which is being blown out of all proportion one of Europe's largest from fares returned to hold last night thousands of people descended on the Walton Street car park for the thrilling rides and traditional fairground food of whole fair these rides and stallholders have been coming to the fair for many years 35 years of coming to all been coming here for almost 15 years I'll feel special. 58 years. Well let's find out what's happening weather wise heels of the Jew Hearst because these are many missed in fog thing but this should clear throughout the morning leaving a lousy dry day for most Some bright and sunny spells well there will be plenty of times any shot was should stay mostly like frequent because of 15 Celsius 59 fire in height so please those are expected. Feeling about the chilly but if you shall Is it still possible mainly along the coast for spreading that. I was with lows overnight of 8 Celsius that's 46 for a night let's get up to date with the latest travel situation David with David James hello David good morning very healthy restrictions through Grimsby on past the street that was closed due to electricity work around Victoria Street West Church Lane is the site of some contraflow around Frederick ward where you'll find restrictions on Deansgate as well apart from that it's just work on the road through the whole way you've got some temperature up in lights around Argyle Street one lane down on forums where a pronoun lobby rode through Bridlington attempted large on Flamborough to run Queen's Gate and a complete closure of the high street reception work between the marketplace and Scarboro the a 1038 Everything else is fairly swayed just buses replacing trains between you castle and bro where fully across country as a result of engineering work anything else would appreciate you call audible 301230182 it's all available online b.b.c. Got caught at u.k. Oversight Thanks David this is b.b.c. Radio Humberside morning how are you welcome to Saturday Breakfast before half past 8 will be revealing the morning's newspapers My guest is Andrew Smith from the whole homeless community project and I'll be finding out what the Beverly Literature Festival is doing for children with a special day of activities aimed at the younger age group I'll be talking to Librarian Kimberly Huston before 9 o'clock. Before that the day has arrived the baby say's open auditions to the face of home on t.v. Radio and online get underway today this is your chance. To shout to the world about what's going on. We have in this part of the wild we call home. The jobs about and what you might think about when you hit the stage. I don't the. Revolver album. Quite incredible but it's true I would like you to try and make it. So I gave you when I was 64 as an example some great suggestions and. Come up with a hard day's night where. I know you can do better. And make it. This is news. Radio besides. Bryan Ferry Roxy Music and let's stick together a baby sea radio Humberside Saturday Breakfast 11 minutes past 10 o'clock today. This morning if you like the idea of getting into broadcasting then an opportunity has arisen let me give you all the data this morning we are holding auditions for someone to be the face and voice of hole 27 saying baby seat holding open auditions at the whole trick theater for someone to tell t.v. Viewers and radio listeners what's happening during the year in whole as u.k. City of culture they don't have to be from whole to have a go at anyone's eligible if you work in the u.k. Being passionate about a whole I would say is a particular advantage and this morning you'll appear in front of a panel of judges and begin a minute to do whatever you want to show off your skills following that if you want to get on the shortlist you'll get a proper longer interview in a few days time interview so it's just the 1st step toward stardom for you maybe and that interview will give you an opportunity to show off what you made of in more detail 1st things 1st the one minutes in front of our panel which is going to take place as a say this morning and the panel will be made up of Peter Levy Kull Wheatley and Keely Donovan with help from the boss of b.b.c. Radio one beside Peter leave his boss no less of North judges column Peter have been having a little natter about what's happening this morning somebody emailed me and said Is Peter going to cross-examine us in the audition room it's not I mean you. Are not. Going to get a hard time no no forget what you see with me on the telly. That is absolutely nothing to do with it it's it's just there to watch and to encourage because if you . Playing as you know being a thespian. If you're playing to a seat it's difficult but if you if you've got 3 or 4 people there to respond then it's easy so no don't don't think Peter is there because Peter does what he does you know because it's not about what about t.v. Not oversee can I. Tell everybody that's not about Keely Donovan I mean that was the Ok. She's got you know she can give you a look oh yes I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of let's face it I've tried . But no I should think I should think she's got a cutting tone Oh I was a cook ting tong Let's give you the right to reply they. Want your rights to those outrageous claims suggest otherwise Peter Levy Yeah he's a very naughty boy you say he is I'm sure I actually think he might be a bit tougher on them than I am because I woke up this morning feeling nervous I was driving here this morning I thought I feel nervous and I thought why do you feel nervous she wanted to know feel nervous for the people additionally do you hear because this would be it would have been something you know when I was starting out that I would have thought was an amazing opportunity but would have been really really scared and we don't want people to be nervous you know we're going to be encouraging people guess they'll be a little bit of you know will be a bit of fun and games in there but genuinely We are looking for somebody we are you know we want people to do well we want to see the best in people so I don't think any of us will be enough to the big boss maybe yeah maybe but I don't think we I think if I think you've got to be a little bit extra you've got to be to want to want to get up on stage to go on the telly to be on the radio and be part of something that's you know very public but that's that's there's nothing wrong with that you're absolutely right and you know Peter and I probably quite good examples of this we aren't particularly loud extra people in real life we're confident and we. No we you know we obviously don't mind getting up in front of people but we're not the people that would be kind of holding court in a room we know when we're not loud mouth when you know we're not we're not we don't read to gawp so you don't need to be that person you just need to be able to be a good communicator be passionate and be able to stand up in front of an audience or in front of a camera microphone and and give the best of yourself you're going to even have people in from severe and they're going to have one minute to impress you so what do you think you're going to be looking for within that minute what are the sort of . Things you're going to see the the traits in the personalities and the what what he does do you think you're going to try and take from that what we're not looking for somebody who is a polished broadcaster we're looking for somebody who is starting out but having said that we are going to be looking for somebody who is a good communicator he was clear who has a little bit of something about that can't really describe exactly what we're looking for because I think we will know that when we see it just somebody he's got a spark yet I think they well they definitely need to passionate about a whole they need to know whole while they need to know you know the intricacies of poll what makes people in whole take because they'll be speaking on behalf of a whole across many outlets you know when they get the job and they also need to have a passion or knowledge about some culture because because that's that's what the it's about if you're waking up this morning Caylee and I was thinking you know you didn't have any t.v. Or radio career as you do at the moment. And he was thinking wow this is a great opportunity would you be fancying having a go and doing this absolutely you know I mean I'm not from hole so I wouldn't be the right person for this for this job if this was the face of Grimsby perhaps Yeah you know so you do and you need to be from home but you need to know a lot about how Biden this is an amazing opportunity how often is there an open audition to be a presenter for the b.b.c. I can't think of I can't think of a no there am. Yet another example you know most people who are broadcasters have to do you know a lot of you know a lot of work behind the scenes a lot of groundwork and spend years and years trying to trying to get the show I started representing 20 years ago and I've only worked the b.b.c. For the last 11 years and haven't presented for all the times that's a long time to work up to getting you know your voice heard on the north and radio for this person you know you be broadcasting on the radio on the t.v. Not just for the North you know it could be on national platforms as well show and of course the huge world of social media as well so you know what a leg up. On stage said to be brilliant Have a great interview and the job could be oh yeah you got nothing to lose you know people with the feeling a bit nervous or a bit unsure what if you got you know come down have a guy if you've got a bit of something about you you know you stand just as good a chance as anybody Good luck with finding that all this morning were paid. The auditions today from 930 this morning a whole truck in the whole city center just turn up and tell as in a minute why you should be the face of Hall and James Hogarth will be broadcasting live already Humberside from the whole truck from 10 o'clock talking to the people taking part as they wait for their audition I let you go and get ready to put some make a. Great. From 10 o'clock this morning or hold truck from 10 this morning talking to the people and seeing what they've got to offer. But this is when I could be. Spending money wisely but surely if you get this well you're going to come back to find the problem and this is Talk about 4 times what happened to good use new everything about how much you know right now from the money. It's how stupid you fail you think you're intelligent think it makes you feel sick or preying on your praises the elders made to hear the full story wake up with the outbreak 1st this is it and there's a big. This needs to be something. Cool would I like to say yes and get things done we think that's what I'm going to feed back Monday on b.b.c. Radio Humberside 819 Andrew Smith from the whole Homer community project joins me in the studio morning good morning how you doing on germ very well you. Coincidentally was on breakfast this week talking to Salman Khan about the seemingly increasing numbers of homeless people being attracted to haul off the back of the City of Culture Yeah they got in touch in the middle of the week and it was a quite an interesting discussion about hall and how friendly we can be and you know it seems to be we do have an influx possibly of people coming in to hold and stuff so you know again with the culture comin in and the wonderful city that we are in the for your city that we are you know I think there's a lot to be said for our and we spoke about the geography of Poland and why is it white lies in the control as opposed to lead in Manchester in all of the big cities Yeah I think sometimes people just like a bit of peace and quiet and we all really so I think it's that applies to them they want to get away from the crowds in the big cities and all seems probably quite an attractive place to do over the very busy way I'm looking for some peace and quiet this week and it's very. True let's start with the papers Daily Telegraph 1st of all talking migrants Yeah Daily Telegraph. After you migrant after migrant could stare after preg So basically what they're saying is anybody who's been in the courtroom for 5 years or more is automatically prime for residence a better place for the same by the time breaks it actually happens looking 80 percent of the people of color into our country will have passed that 5 years and there will be. They will have the right already to be residents in the u.k. Saying this statistic already exists all right that's the way the ruled are where the rules are at the minute you know if you come into this country you've got 5 years and you pay into society you get a job education after 5 years because obviously it's the e.u. You can apply for automatic permanent residence but when those rules change and the bricks do we do not know that well that's what we're wondering in the Telegraph obviously the well to reason is saying that the government basically the playing the cards close to the chest they're not going to reveal how. Others are all going to change or rather not I think it would be nice for people to know where they stand and where they live so as things stand and no change in the Rolls if someone votes it breaks it to send some migrants home yeah that's me surmising. Then it was a fable not respects as the rule stands the rule stand and you talk in the figures Well the figures published in The Guardian 3600000 migrants will have residency rights or be given amnesty 520193 point 6000000 is quite a lot of people it's also quite a lot of people who could potentially be on Shaw where their future lives. Many friends in that situation myself who are currently going through college or university work in pain into the system they've got families and houses and all the rest of it and they're very excited that their 5 years is coming soon so there can be a permanent resident of the u.k. I was in Spain this week on business and suits of Spanish people are they they understand the reasons why behind the vote but the scratching heads as to why but this is a long running story I don't think it's going to go away any time so. It's some her horrendous stories and pictures coming out of Haiti her hurricane Matthew doing devastating work. Effects on that on Haiti the Guardian has got the story on the front page Well it's just horrific isn't it unlike some of the pictures coming out of the devastation especially in Haiti which is particularly badly hit. Well the published 850 or of a feared dead from from the hurricane surf are in hits a that's obviously a lot of people again but you know of course South Florida Carolina even Disney world all those sort of areas that are affected that is obviously a huge Taare Zameen Par player and also the residents as well unfortunately environmental disasters is not a lot we can do of all of his the boat the aftermath that's where we can really come together and we can help each other out and we would just start reading through the papers before we came in and we noticed in the Grimsby newspaper. One of our residents David ring turn right and sorry from Grimm's Bay I think he's quite well known in the area yeah and him and his wife Sharon and daughter Haley are actually caught so in the drama in Florida at the minute I think we should obviously wish them well and. Yeah but yeah natural disasters how do we cope with them in the future the Seems to me of the loss quickly is that to be more and more and I don't know if it's a change in in the weather and obviously people talk about global warming and all this kind of thing but whether that's relevant on our loss not for me to say it but you know how do we deal with the devastation especially in places like Haiti the on . That strong infrastructure already. Countries in the well the more you know the so easily affected by things like best Florida will bounce back straight away but yeah. I'm Joe thanks for coming in we'll come back to Andrew Smith from the homeless community project here soon. After this from the shyest. Shi'ism my universe. We're getting some great texts in. Making Beatles songs old it's because the Beatles Revolver album is 50 years old this week so can you make a Beatles song older from pole large prints paperback writer thinks very clever. Down today the travel situation details now with it is today David James hello David good morning we've got we've got restrictions through Grimsby with a contraflow on Churchill and a brown Frederick ward where past history through Grimsby that closed each band around Victoria Street West and Victoria Street south due to road works and through the whole it's the ongoing restrictions on going by the way through into the week before Christmas temper lights on and the road up around the junction of Argyle Street is actually a temporary bridge at the moment to allow traffic to for floor for use without work has been suspended for the sake of full but you have still got restrictions on her and where a rundown of the road toward Margaret Moxon where into and out of Britain 5 at the moment unless you want to use the high street which remains closed due to resurfacing work. And you got temperatures well on clamber road around Queens good public transport fine apart from cross country services north of Newcastle towards Edinburgh which are replacing replaced by bushes at the moment as a result of engineering work if you do spot any problems in a safe and legal you can call in a one for a 2 story out of 830-123-8182 there's more online b b c dot co dot you care so much oversight I'm hesitating David because my default is down k. Stands no me on a Saturday morning but you've obviously. Have the let a lot of a lie in this morning have you got the phone call Yeah absolutely I can you can you come in and Bella saying yeah. David James back with more on the travel situation here for was about half an hour. Across North and East to hear this he's b.b.c. Radio homicide time for the weather forecast and we can say good morning to Abby to have asked Good morning Neal how are we do you know what I'm Tickettyboo I'm absolutely good as gold Yeah I'm going to I'm sure I've been on a bit of a business trip this way and I've been to Spain and. I do a day out. And. I went to a place called Saragossa and it was 1st of all I knew nothing about the place and it really is a really lovely central the city center is very very beautiful and the temperatures were about 25 to Grazie still some other. I needed to wear get me McCarty want to go back when I got back home I say laving that by 2 of the 20s I'm afraid yes business trips you're on because I feel like I need to get myself someone if they need a weather forecaster to come with. Me if I can a tall get you on the next one I will I'll get it sorted for you Ok So look at the forecast for today then I think we could see a bit of early Mr fog as well as some showers there just lingering along the coast at the moment but fingers crossed this should clear throughout the morning really leaving a largely dry date from a simple item sunny spells and while there will be plenty of cloud around at times I'm hoping that any showers should stay mostly light actually quite infrequent you will be quite lucky to see a shower throughout the afternoon good chance of seeing one or 2 this morning highs today are 15 Celsius 59 in far in height so we're expecting some clear spells overnight tonight that this will lead to it feeling rather chilly I think a few showers are possible once again mainly on the coast before spreading a bit further inland during the early hours overnight temperatures dipping to around 7 or 8 Celsius $846.00 in Fahrenheit so it will be a chilly start the day tomorrow should be much brighter though with some really good steady spells There is however still scope for the arch up shower with highs tomorrow at 12 Solti's 54 Fahrenheit and the risk of seeing some ground frost overnight into Monday temperatures are going to plummet in clear spells Monday itself looking rather cloudy the risk of some quite heavy showers but also some brighter spells and then bang into an area of high pressure currently set over Scandinavia it's looking like we're going to happen at the last we set a week with just a cool breeze. So let's take a look at your insurer waters forecast is valid until midnight tonight winds northeast for 5 states light or moderate weather showers and visibility good and your next high tide for Burlington 943 Grimsby 1035 whole 11101223 thank you very much indeed. With the weather forecast for East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire It is $837.00. 37. This is new poll. Number. By the way. The songs the Beatles song sound. Song. I Want To Hold Your Hand. When I'm 94. When. Played as it. Was. You'll. See. Let. Me. Let. Sister Sledge and lost in music this is baby say radio side 18 minutes to 98 saturday breakfast till 10 am male road we're looking for your Beatle songs made older to celebrate the fact that they revolve the album is 50 years old this way 50 years he's half a century Beatles songs this is getting ridiculous. Any way you do are you doing well without any help from a that's very good. Andrew see I came up with when I was 64 on to hold your hand. And the people I thought. Andrew is here once again from the c.p. The whole homeless community projects on and morning again thank you very much for joining us we're talking papers and the controversy around cycling. Bradley Wiggins Yeah cycling in and Sky says Our Daily Mail in the Daily Mail what they saying today yeah they've said investigators swooped into cycling hitch here in Manchester to begin their probe into the Bart obviously the over the last 12 months it's the interesting this is heightened with people looking into where how cycling is run things behind the scenes which obviously a lot of people that say and again I think it's just it plays into the. How much do we know about our superstars in our sports stars and all the rest of it and what they go up to and that kind of things it's a shame really because cycling has always been seen as a very. Good Sparta very clean courts bar and I think the last 20 years is it suffered badly the strong is there's been if you know one of many of let it down and I think on the whole it is a good Spartan there's some fantastic athlete in it but we do need to make sure that things are done right and and these people are accountable for their actions it's a shame but hopefully something positive comes out of it. Maybe causing trouble or being part of the problem brought to account and and they can sort it out hopefully the Times is going to sport related stories well actually tax avoidance Yeah I thought about or even out with a couple of sporty ones. As far as tax avoidance in football again another contentious subject with wages and all that kind of thing for not only for the players but for the management and the urn as well. South care partners obviously they have been in the news the last year or 2 regarding their important football since they've been playing and when Rooney as well apparently again for the 4th or 5th time in the manner of years $3500000.00 barrel for attacks on paired that's a huge amount of money in itself without being just a tax bill but apparently they use. The use fans to shelter them one day and it's not technically illegal I think but it's very morally wrong and underhand and you're talking about hiding somewhere between 12 and a half and 15000000 pounds when really 250 grand a way don't get me started on it but you know it's a it's all about supply and demand it's the least prepared to pay it you can take it I suppose I just think sport should be Spall and I think that gets lost sometimes which is which is a shit and I've got one for you well I'm not literally for you I mean I don't say that the wrong way or just a story I found it just I thought was of interest to to and to anybody listening. Really Mom I love my idea Hey Mama it's a look. I've got to say I'm a hair. So yeah Ok Well we're different because I love what I wear. And marmite is one of the rich resources of the victim on so if you want you to member of the world if we could get the victims and all the rest of it out with a mom and put in something like chocolate milk or something like that maybe a change of flavor I mean I would. Say cautionary you should go and speak to a doctor before you start taking regular doses of vitamins or the pill you can take supplements car you can go and get your time and supplements but mama is particular h m b 12 and yeah it can solve that issue of. Yeah it's difficult to wear this in the morning but anyway yeah I think you know what I think the headline in the paper is how Marmite spreads the passion to things quite good it's quite a good headline I think there's a lot to be said for food and and how we live our lives with diets and stuff but for me I think it would be a bit of a stretch Andrew Smith thank you for coming in you're looking at the papers here and saying thank you you did see radio Humberside sports when you were little we talked he didn't have much choice in the matter in no way. Nearly 5 minutes to 9 in this part of the Beverley Literature Festival today suffering event a day of events and aimed at young readers it's taking place Beverly library is going to also is going on puppets and a very loud pirate apparently both a viral or a l. Plates with a preview of her yet to be released book and a cartoon drawing shop so there's loads going on. As loads going on and let's talk to Librarian Kimberly Hostin who's joining us this morning on the program Hi Kimberly Jaime or how you doing I'm really good thank you very much indeed so it's very exciting to be part of the Beverly Literature Festival Oh it certainly is we're really excited here it's some tough state Festival this year and we're really looking forward to all the children's events that's happening today yes or the children's events going on today a mention sort of briefly mention those you fill out the details for us give us some stuff that's going on yes certainly So 1st of all we're kicking off this morning with the West. Troll which is we've concentrated on trying to embrace local offices the Shia and the West with Charlie is actually a book that's done by local off the cold Marion gamble and then we have put this place in storage as Hoover adapted that story with Mary and she have a copy version of it and it's very local cause obviously that Lee Westwood is about to troll based on the Westwood it's going to be quite spooky in a really sort of like fantastic for the young kids to really enjoy it out yes I'm not good thoughts I like the sound of that troll on Beverly Westwood that I think that's great that yeah we like the look a lot look cool as like that and then we've got Captain Cross spins coming with Shiver me timbers tales so he's doing lots of pirate stories tales of buried treasure flush book cleanup ventures saw ferry and life piracy badly library we're really looking forward so that we actually my guess were 2 thoughts on cry of that scouts and crossed eyes it's that yeah so interesting because we all like to do with pirates you know x. And though we do like to do the old are we do are we do you know yes sorry our interrupt you carry on Kimberly Ok after that we've got we've got Valerie I'll pick to you mentioned who's doing some really all she's done a beautiful autumn story Valerie again another local office. She's done a book called Millie live still so we're doing autumn stories and small some crafts as well but she'll also be introducing her very brand new book which is called the fox in the head joke that's actually only just been finished this week that's going to be really exciting to you. Kimberly how hard is it to get. In Is it hard soul to get children interested in libraries books because of course we've got the tablets and smartphones and all these are the things which are keeping. Kids occupied these days is it hard for me to encourage kids to to embrace a hard book you know the real thing as it where it's not easy but you know well we've got so many talented parents teachers librarians library staff you know that really enjoy helping children solve embraced the literature. And that you would need to get somebody who's really enthusiastic you can just read a good story to really get children engaged and interested and once they are they tend to become readers for life and that is absolutely the best thing for them I love the fact that my I've got my 2 youngest children are 8 and 4 and I love the fact that they still try a book by the time absolutely it does not so how will my daughter's mind and I still read to her. Not to get me wrong we're not reading picture books we're reading professorial Yeah and it's absolutely brilliant she just loves to be right so any child loves to be read so I mean again not just helps them engage with story that you know having all those words all about them it really does embrace them they do embrace it so people are listening Kimberly I'm thinking you know I want to get involved with this today what's your advice how you know how do people find out more where should they had to to to just get involved right what they need to do obviously they are to get to the event we do still have some spaces left on everything except the cartoon workshop that is sold out and everything else we do have a few tickets left so you need to come along specially library or you can give us a ring but it's probably better if you come along because then you can get the tickets there and then yeah all right lovely have a great day Kimberly thanks ever so much for coming on another chat with us thank you very much loved it cam Kimberly hasta NY librarian from Beverly and of course about the Beverly Literature Festival today which is particularly high at the children which is really fancy. It written a book to the kids is still great you know. They love the tablets but. It's great to find some time for a book with some. National baby loss awareness week from tomorrow a baby remembered seventy's being held this afternoon at 3 o'clock at Grimsby is Diana Princess of Wales Hospital the service will be led by the Reverend. The event is organized by the chaplaincy service at the hospital which also runs the blue butterfly support group for those families who've lost a child before or after a baby has been delivered and to tell us the Lincolnshire angle n.h.s. Foundation Trust chaplain the Reverend Amoco Mike is on the line morning am in the new Thanks ever so much for coming on. I can just imagine. It is a difficult subject and for parents a shocking loss to enjoy how quickly does the chaplaincy service get to know about these cases where a baby has been lost is it just a case of parents speak out you know come and seek the chaplaincy service it happens or. Is there a request told about it I have heard about but. Sometimes even before that are. You know going to. Help them with their plan to help them think about what happened this baby has survived all if they've experienced to support them straightaway with. The way that and sometimes people. Are people like group crews who are the organizations locally to come and get some support and also people who's down the line who experienced that last little really felt like come to terms with that they can come home to and have somehow put their baby's name in Brooklyn or chapel or come along to the group oh help we'll help them find out the support. I mean I say my hat's off to you to take on this difficult task I mean what can you possibly say to grieving parents in the circumstances it must be incredibly hard to offer the support that you you know you so wished wish to offer you can say that the baby is passionate and special you can say that whatever circumstances. Maybe something. That maybe someone who you know I will remember. Someone who may be special to them all their lives I had a phone call this week from somebody who'd be attending the scandal. Which is happening at the same time voting in Florence. And she was remembering the death of her baby 60 years ago and she's coming home and that special day for the because right across the board the. That sense of loss but also about hope that the desire to remember exactly one precious and that's what we hope to keep have it's a chance today to remember. In the ways of doing. And just the service to fail at a Gives you know a degree of comfort to to parents who have lost a baby so tragically I believe that we see that we've had from parents who come from other you people have told me. I have gone on to have other children since the loss of this child but I always want to day in which to remember them to say you're special and I'm not forgetting you even though my family has has gone on to grow you know my 1st child or you're my 2nd child so that's an important thing for parents and also if you haven't had many opportunities many many days maybe to create memories without the child. It gives you an opportunity to come and build those memories to share we will be giving away. A pen and you know more pain that comes from the sounds organization. One of those will go to each family and hopefully they'll put that in what we call a man with boxes in the hospital and families who have experienced a loss like this may well be given a memory box and the charity to treasure and in that they'll be able to get maybe a little lock of hair footprints handprints and the things we can get in the service will be another thing to put in that memory box and give us the details of the fabric. Timing in place today at 3 o'clock in the hospital chapel in Diana Princess of Wales and also the one at 14 and he's come to St Lawrence as the one in the hospital chapel Englands me if you come to the main hospital lists and you look right you'll see the sign posting for the chapel on the wall just follow it down and they'll be volunteers to welcome you and don't feel worried about coming or or that maybe it's not for you just try it out and come and say. Thanks very much for coming on the program this morning and thank you Reverend McCall make that the no the Lincoln. Foundation Trust chaplain It is night saying b.b.c. Jackson good things about him easy as good a guy is the impression that I get about him he was really cool I was so anxious because you can be quite difficult I think because we were talking about. Charity very important he was really relaxed and he just gave us a lot of time and very open about yeah you saw hope for Men's Health magazine Men's Health you care magazine it's a saw. And it really means we have articles on whether we're all going to be in insects in the future as a sustainable source of protein so that's where I deal with this really interesting logic features look at an interesting topic so it's very fun. He just hold that thought for a moment that. Aging was a certain eating insects as a source of protein Yeah. This is because farming be think how sheep and everything is quite unsustainable for the environment so. Certain experts think we're going to eat crickets and things that are so I spent 2 weeks basically eatin every sort of insect I could get my hands on some through companies who specialize in this some through restaurants. So yeah quite a lot of them tried to tried to decide whether I think it's a good option and I think. Probably it's good for the planet book not so good for the taste but at the moment I've been offered jars of roasted crickets and stuff are you talking about that sort of still Yeah you know what the word so bad typical honesty sounds like yeah it sounds like a challenge from I'm a Celebrity Get me know if it were actually the way to bat the quite tasty little bit dusty I think to stay Yeah yeah. That's a good that's a good that's a good way to say that yeah but Dusty if you like you just to try to roast a cricket I am so obviously writing is your thing clearly features editor of Men's Health magazine and now sort of branching out into writing fictional work so when did when did that is it always been there or is it something you've sort of starts to get in so yeah well fiction is really what I like to do full time and I was looking up to win a prize from g.q. For a short story when I finished university and then as a result of that I met Tony Parsons. And he sort of said If you want to write fiction you know I'm going to earn any money she needed a job doing generalism right which is how I so going to. Publish my 1st novel a departure in 2013 and it was shortlisted for the people's book prize next year and recently maybe 6 weeks ago I published my 1st book of short stories called that dogs and splinted Yeah both through cooking publishing. So really I think fiction is what I want to do is just. Slow slog to build it up with any sort of career Yeah Scunthorpe or is it you know is it helping you is it inspiring you in any way is it coming up with any potential storylines for you you know you have your place of birth. I mean I've lived in London for a few years when I was in school for I'm sure it's seeped into me in a way I think the 1st book is about leaving school for perhaps and certainly some short stories about people I know in school for in the 2nd book so yeah I think everything plays into it. We're going to come back in a chat with you very soon. Living in London obviously the moment. In journalism and. Fiction. Writing as well but. I will play a cheery news tonight. This is pretty small but you get. Down. As you. Know. areas. That don't. Get the May. Rob Underwood from a. Today James Hogan from 10 o'clock live from the hole translates as we look for the face of hole 27 tane sport the south today and featuring Scunthorpe United at home to Northampton that she f.m. In Freeview game and digital in 4085 against Grimsby my guest born in scum thought he was going to found Tommy you fly the flag for the i n. I never really going to know. Something No sadly no we talking earlier about your books and what you've had published are these self publications have you been able to find something to publish for you yeah I know I have a publisher called Crooked cut Scotland there are a lot of really exciting and dependent publishers in the u.k. And they're one of them in Scotland so I was looking to get taken on board by them so you're going to get so you current work is dead dogs and splintered hearts give us a little biopsy that was was was thought about show us so this is 24 I think short stories. Basically written over a few years a range of some romantic summer drinkin some about travel in. There's want to buy a magazine that explodes because. It is want to. Meet in lunch time strong in Mexico this one about staying at Norman Mailer's house and went. Warm it's. A schoolteacher who is accountable. Somewhat silly some serious hope for a nice mixture for nice standards the one of was the story about cannibalistic schoolteachers. All right on. G.q. Norman Mailer Well yeah it's about. Trying. Being a young man and trying to emulate your hero remounted so. You know having this much look Ok very good. Yes. You know the questions you ask about you you short stories do they stand alone could you just randomly pick or now or do you sort of need to read from the beginning to end like most books now. I think it's a book he could pick up and flick through Start read in whichever store you London Yeah yeah very good we've got some 5 stupid questions based on your Twitter fate of what I won't joke warned you about this I've heard about. It we go Question one Why is Goldfinger the best Bond film ever Ok. It's just Sean Connery to begin with I think it's a film when everything so came together you've got us than mine you've got got you . Go think it's a good villain who's not used to stand alone not parks but. It's just so much so-called This is yeah it is a cool film Goldfinger is a colorful. Sort of a brain with yellow I keep thinking about the 1st one I just thought the 1st one it's so much style to a dog to know yeah but the thing is a great show how did you trick your way into meeting Muhammad Ali. So this was again it was. Norman Mailer award. Essentially the 4 night stand short story and its competition one I was very surprised. By this I got flown to New York which was amazing and it was. There's a big award ceremony on because Norman made written about Muhammad Ali in a book called fight he was a guest so I got to have my picture taken just me and him and I met Alec Baldwin the director Oliver Stone It was really so one of those events quite unbelievable it's amazing how Question 3 of the questions were based on your Twitter feed was the greatest novel inspired by war. Like this is from an article I wrote Obviously I can't remember why I said it's all right we put you on the I was sorry for putting on the spalls So I. Say maybe a Farewell to Arms by this time anyway I want to say a word for that. Blade runner to a disaster waiting to happen or best decision ever it's going to be fantastic I think the director is brilliant prison is an early film with it's great Ridley Scott's produce in Ryan Gosling's unfolds a lot of great great cinematography I think it's going to be brilliant. And the 5th question we had lined up for yet with sort of touched on already to be insects protein the only way to get a 6 pack. Probably probably not the only way to get 6 pack I think if you were really. Conscious about. Greenhouse gas emissions and things like that you could probably try an insect and I miss you a vegetarian you self or some of you know that you really want cheese on much me you eat. Only what. Sense I like to see a look at my plate. Yeah. Great.
