Why should OTTs pay fees to telcos?
T V Ramachandran, president of Broadband India Forum, argues against the idea that large traffic generators like OTTs should pay a fee to telecom companies for supporting the traffic. The authors question the fairness of this fee, as customers already pay data charges for watching OTT platforms and telecom companies have the freedom to charge appropriate data tariffs.
