Whoever says the Bible is boring hasn't read Genesis 22. The story is a riveting one, about a man's willingness to sacrifice the most important thing in his life for the sake of God. Within the chapter, God says to Abraham, "take with you your only son -- yes, Isaac whom you love so much-- and go to the land of Moriah and sacrifice him there as a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I'll point out to you!" And, amazingly he went to Moriah.

I read on the internet that the human eye is capable of seeing approximately 100 feet in distance and spans approximately 120 degrees. However, our knowledge of any given circumstance is formed by assembling what we see with other senses, feelings, and experiences. Next time you approach a space, observe how your sight is the first sense that jumps into action helping you to form an opinion.

PRAYER

"Can a leopard change his spots?" This is a question in Jer. 13:23 used to describe one's inability to change. The expanded thought is that we get stuck in an unchangeable pattern. Coupled with feelings of unquenchable satisfaction or destructible behavior, the pattern can become an instinctive way of living.
