The Reserve Bank Of India has said that the banknotes in Rs 2000 denomination will continue to be legal tender till September 30, which is the deadline by when people should exchange the notes.
Though you cant Rs 2,000 Notes on Amazon for cash on delivery from today, if your product is delivered through a third-party courier partner, their own policies will apply.
Amazon however said that if your product is delivered through a third-party courier partner, their own policies around the acceptance of Rs 2,000 currency notes will apply.
Consequently, Rs 2,000 bank notes in circulation as at the close of business on June 30 stood at Rs 0.84 lakh crore.
The Rs 2000 banknotes were taken out of circulation by the Reserve Bank of India on May 19, although they will still be accepted as legal money. RBI advised banks to immediately stop issuing banknotes having a value of Rs 2000.
