For the implementation of the National Exit Test (NExT) for final year MBBS students of the 2020 batch, the Union Health Ministry has constituted a seven-member committee to examine the preparedness of states and medical colleges.
The NExT will be a "computer-based examination based on high-quality multiple-choice questions (MCQ) focused on addressing higher domains of knowledge aligned to competencies expected of a medical graduate practicing the modern system of medicine."
NExT Exam 2023 webinar was held on June 27, 2023 at 2.30 via online mode. During the webinar, the National Medical Commission shared that the Exit Test will be held in twice a year and students who were admitted in 2019 will be the first batch.
