5G users: A year on, close the 5Generation gap - The Economic Times
India currently has over 110 million 5G users, but this is still a small fraction of its 1.2 billion mobile users. Telcos are not charging extra for 5G services as they focus on gaining subscribers. Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel are expanding their 5G networks across the country, while Vodafone Idea has yet to set a launch date. The lack of affordable 5G phones and a mature devices ecosystem, as well as the poor fibre infrastructure and absence of use cases, have hindered adoption.
