World in Progress: Travel nurses to the rescue? Travel nurses fill gaps in hospitals that need more hands on deck. During the pandemic, many medical staff themselves became sick or had to quarantine. For many clinics which were already short-staffed, it was a huge burden. Travel nurses were there to help out.
