According to the health ministry, 864,062 Quebecers on the waiting list for a family doctor, a list that has more than doubled since 2018.
Unlike the One Call, One Appointment phone service which was discontinued in April, the hotline launching Monday will only be available to parents of children who don't have a pediatrician or family doctor.
The service, named “One Call, One Appointment," provided a new single number for the island of Montreal, allowing parents of children aged up to age 16 to get a medical appointment for a kid whose ailment does not require a trip to the emergency room.
