Homicides include those investigated by Louisville Metro Police as well as other Jefferson County law enforcement agencies. All victims were from Louisville, unless otherwise noted.
This list is preliminary, and the number of homicides can change as authorities investigate the circumstances of each case, determining whether the slaying was criminal, justified, accidental or suicide. The Courier Journal has excluded cases deemed accidents, suicides, fatal overdoses or hit-and-run deaths.
So far in 2021, LMPD has investigated 43 homicides.

Dartford mum took her own life after jealous bully boyfriend attacked her

A tragic Dartford mum-of-two has been cheated of justice after suffering at the hands of a jealous boyfriend who stole her money before beating her unconscious.
Gemma Robinson, 34, took her own life before seeing her bullying lover Joseph Falconer jailed.

The fitness instructor had tried to escape his clutches but he discovered her address in Dartford and tracked her down.
Maidstone Crown Court heard their four-year relationship had been volatile and in January 2019 she was pictured looking healthy and happy .
Brandon Miah was “incensed” by the alleged “disparaging” comments made by his cousin in St Leonards. He wanted to find his cousin and went to his grandmother’s home. When he arrived the 23-year-old was told to calm down by his uncle Christopher Peters and his gran Rosemary Locking. Miah pummelled Mr Peters, 52, leaving is uncle in hospital for a month with broken ribs and a broken cheek. Mr Peters suffered complications that left him on a ventilator after the attack in July this year. At Lewes Crown Court, father-of-two Miah admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm and was jailed for two years and two months by Judge Janet Waddicor.
