East Carolina University Parking and Transportation (P&T) will implement new license plate recognition (LPR) software for the 2021-2022 academic year on its enforcement vehicles to scan license plates to determine if vehicles have valid permits to park in university lots.Â
ECU Parking and Transportation (P&T) Enforcement Supervisor Joshua Puckett said the cameras which are on the vehicles parked in university lots cannot scan license plates if a studentâs car is backed in or pulled through. He said P&T has worked on a way to create a separate space for students and faculty to back in or pull through.Â
