5/19/2021 Meghan Stevens, left, has been named valedictorian and Ethan Kmiecik the salutatorian. NORTH SMITHFIELD – After a long year for students and staff and a joyful return to four days a week of in-person classes in the spring, Meghan Stevens and Ethan Kmiecik have emerged as the top students for the North Smithfield High School Class of 2021. Stevens, the daughter of Anthony and Kelley Stevens, has been named valedictorian. She plans to attend Worcester Polytechnic Institute and pursue a degree in chemical engineering in the fall. Kmiecik, the son of Kris and Monika Kmiecik, has been named salutatorian. He plans to attend Bryant University and study business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship in the fall. ....

3/3/2021 NSHS parents rally as seniors return to school Parents and middle school students braved frigid temperatures and a gusty wind to welcome returning seniors back to North Smithfield High School on Tuesday morning. (Breeze photos by Robert Emerson) NORTH SMITHFIELD – A group of parents at North Smithfield High School are determined to give their children the senior sendoff they deserve. Kim McCauley and Beth Beecy are two of the coordinators behind a new initiative by parents of NSHS seniors. The group is working with the school administration to plan activities for the Class of 2021 with the goal of spreading positivity and fighting the isolation brought on by the pandemic. ....
