Just because a police officer feels uncomfortable doesn’t mean that officer is unsafe.
That’s one lesson Guillermo Lopez hopes to impart to municipal police officers in Northampton County through a new implicit bias training program.
Northampton County Executive Lamont McClure announced the training at a press conference Tuesday.
It’s not the county’s place to provide policing, but the county is invested in providing human services, McClure said. The county already provides life-saving crisis intervention training to all first responders, including police officers. McClure feels implicit bias training i ....
