As ERCOT prepares for potential record energy demand this summer, it unveiled a new campaign on Wednesday to improve communication about grid conditions.
AUSTIN — The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, released a new notification system it says will improve grid communications to the public.
ERCOT introduced TXANS, the Texas Advisory and Notification System, to help give people up-to-date information on the state's power grid conditions.
The COVID-19 exposure alerts system, which notified you when you had been in contact with someone that tested positive, has now been shut down in the majority of U.S. states.
Over 40,000 people used the system to alert of COVID-19 exposure, which helped others to take action and prevent disease spread.
