that third ballot, where he failed to get the votes. it s been back to the drawing board for ken mccarthy and his allies. we have seen supporters going into his office. we are told he has been working the phones. he still hoping to negotiate and not planning to drop out. but meanwhile, i spoke to a gop lawmaker. this is some breaking news here. this lawmaker texted me and said this is someone who supported mccarthy. they said they have just gotten a phone call from one of the never kevin republicans, who is trying to grow their opposition and is trying to get that number to flip. essentially what you have here is kevin mccarthy and his office in the capital, trying to get to 218. and you have this opposition digging in and trying to work directly against him. look, this is one of the potential drawbacks of doing the motion to adjourn. there is a lot of concern initially about whether, if they were to send members home, about whether the opposition would have time to gro ....
