>> well the ntsb labs here in washington, d.c. are prepared to landal the black boxes if they are recovered. these labs are so high tech they handle some of the toughest cases as we saw in a recent tour. about a third of the world's black boxes recovered come here. investigators say they have a series of inputs containing the status of the aircraft including air pressure, speed, altitude and the mechanical status which can show a catastrophic failure. less tell in this case is the cockpit voice recorder which would not show the vital first hour when the co-pilot signed off. >> thanks very much...
