In a significant development, the Supreme Court has rejected the unconditional apology tendered by Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna
The Court said that the authorities were in "deep slumber" for 4-5 years.
The apex court also cracked the whip on the Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority for choosing to turn a blind eye to the misleading advertisements. It asked all the officers who had served as district ayurvedic and unani officers from 2018 till now to file affidavits within two weeks, explaining their inaction against Patanjali Ayurved.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to accept the second apology of Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna in the contempt case over the publication of misleading medical advertisements, as the contemnors deliberately evaded personal presence before the court.
