Samarth scheme inaugurated at DIC Tuensang

Dimapur, Nov. 17 (EMN): A skill upgradation training on handloom weaving under Samarth scheme was inaugurated at District Industries Centre (DIC) office in Tuensang on November 15 in the presence of Thungchanbemo Tungoe, ADC of Tuensang. Samarth scheme is sponsored by the Ministry of Textile, Office of the Development Commissioner (Handloom), Weavers Service Centre, government of India. Speaking on the occasion, Tungoe encouraged all the trainees to be serious and attentive. As the training is about skill up-gradation in handloom, he stated that it would focus on small scale unorganised handloom related sector. He also spoke on the importance of the scheme to upgrade their skills that would directly boost their trade. He stated that the scheme would help build their small-scale industries and subsequently generate employment and lead towards sustainability. Handicraft exhibition underway at Urban Haat

Dimapur, Sep. 5 (EMN): The Handicraft Exhibition organised by the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (NHHDC Ltd.) and sponsored by the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Ministry of Textiles, commenced here at Urban Haat on Monday. An update informed that managing director, NHHDC Ltd., Dimapur, Zakabo V Rotokha, inaugurated the exhibition which will conclude on September 11. All together there are 50 participants from Assam, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and from the various districts of Nagaland, exhibiting varieties of hand crafted products. The main aim and objective of the Exhibition is to develop and promote marketing channels in domestic and export markets and bring about linkage between the two in a holistic and integrated manner.
