The National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) , Com. Sunday Asefon, on Thursday disclosed that the association planned to organize a  Security and Education Summit to partner stakeholders on how to arrest the drift in the two critical sectors .
He described the 2021 budgetary provision for education under President Muhammadu Buhari, as the worst in  the last one decade.
He expressed worry over the level of neglect in the education sector, which was apportioned with a  paltry of 5.6 percent in the 2021 budget and the high level of insecurity in the country. ....

Those who took time to see the video where 16-year-old Barakat Melojuekun and her father, Adesola, pleaded with Nigerians to forget the allegation of sexual harassment levelled against the Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Abiodun Abdul Balogun, would notice a common phrase in their speeches. Both father and daughter said they just realised “few misconceptions and misunderstanding” and would therefore “want Nigerians to please allow this matter to rest.”

The National Association of Nigerian Students’ President, Comrade Sunday Asefon has described the amount allocated to the education sector in the country’s 2021 budget as the worst in a decade.
Nigeria budgeted 6.3 per cent of its 2021 national budget on the Federal Ministry of Education. A sum of N742.5 billion out of the total N11.7 trillion budget was allowed to the ministry out of which N615.1 billion is proposed to go into the recurrent expenditure of the ministry covering personnel and overhead costs while N127.3 billion is devoted to capital expenditure. ....

The Public Relations Officer of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Oyo State chapter, Adeleke Abidemi Quadri, yesterday, alleged he was severely molested and nearly killed by men of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, codenamed: Amotekun.
Narrating his ordeal in the hands of Amotekun to Vanguard, Quadri, stated that some members of the corps kicked, slapped and pointed their riffle on his forehead, threatened to kill him at the spot without anybody to question them.
According to him: “I received the beaten of my life from Amotekun Operatives last Tuesday night in my area. I landed in the hospital thereafter.” ....
