Okwegbe, who spoke to newsmen, said: “It is a case of murder, the court does not have jurisdiction to hear such offence. The court has remanded the suspect, so they are sending the casefile to the office of the DPP for legal advice.”
Some Nigerian activists have planned to stage a peaceful protest to express their grievance over the murder of Onyeka Ibeh in Delta State. Ibeh was a phone dealer killed by a policeman for refusing to part with a bribe of N100. The youths will also use the protest to demand the prosecution of Ibeh’s killer. The protest is scheduled to kick off in front of Ogbeogonogo Market in Asaba, the state capital at 9 am on Thursday.
