India News: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi has reversed its decision to shut OPD services till 2:30 pm on the day of the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. AIIMS and Lady Hardinge Medical College will remain open to prevent any inconvenience to patients.
AIIMS Delhi ensures uninterrupted services, and keeps OPD open during the Ayodhya ceremony.
Dr Anil Yadav, general secretary, HCMS said OPD services remained suspended in government health institutions on Friday while emergency services functioned as usual. "In view of the assurance of a meeting with the government pertaining to our demands and keeping in view the larger public interest, we did not proceed with a complete shutdown of services and emergency services are being attended to.
The district hospital in Sector 39 is set to launch dedicated OPD services for addiction patients. The clinic will focus on regular counselling for people who are exposed to various types of addiction. Once operational, the hospital will also start a ward for inpatient services for addiction patients.
