Beginning Saturday, March 25 the Carson City Fire Department will allow open burning with a permit through April 23, 2017. The purpose of the open burn period is to provide residents an opportunity to dispose of accumulated weeds and yard debris.
The campfire ban was originally issued on June 8, but lasted only eight days before the province rescinded it.
