NZ police release additional image in appeal over Māngere incident


As stated by Detective Senior Sergeant Kepal Richards, Counties Manukau CIB:
Police investigating an incident in Māngere last month which resulted in the death of Kimleang Youn are releasing a further appeal.
The 28-year-old man, who was also known as Heng, died late last week from his injuries following the incident on 28 April on Robertson Road.
The Operation Kinley team have now identified the vehicle we believe was involved in the incident.
Police are now seeking the public’s assistance to identify a person that can assist our investigation into what happened to Kimleang.
Today, we are releasing an image of this man. While we recognise the image is not high quality, we would ask anyone with information to come forward to Police. ....

Attribute to Detective Senior Sergeant Kepal Richards, Counties Manukau CIB:
Police can advise that a man critically injured on Robertson Road in Māngere at the end of April has now died.
Sadly the man died as a result of his injuries in hospital at the end of last week.
Over the weekend Police have been in the process of notifying the man’s family, who reside overseas.
We can now name the man as 28-year-old Kimleang Youn, who was also known by his nickname Heng.
Police and Victim Support are providing as much assistance as possible to his family at this difficult time. ....

Man critically injured after falling from moving car dies

In a statement, police said Kimleang Youn, who was also known by his nickname Heng, died at the end of last week.
Police were in the process of notifying the man s family, who reside overseas, since his death.
Kimleang sustained critical injuries after falling from a vehicle he was travelling in on Robertson Road in Māngere on 28 April. The vehicle did not stop.
Police are treating the circumstances as suspicious.
Police have spoken with people who came to Kimleang s aid, but said there were still other people they would like to hear from.
They saod they were aware that some people at the scene may have been recording at the time emergency services arrived, and they would like those people to speak to them. ....
