MDOT - MDOT and OCP virtual public meeting June 17 to discuss I-75/12 Mile Road interchange in Oakland County

BACKGROUND:
Originally planned to replace the existing interchange at I-75/12 Mile Road, MDOT and OCP have revised the design to incorporate a diverging diamond interchange (DDI). This innovative design will improve safety and traffic flow at this busy interchange. To build a majority of the DDI in one season, 12 Mile Road will be closed to through-traffic under I-75 from March to November 2022. During the rebuilding, local access will be maintained to businesses.
Segment 3 of the I-75 modernization project is a multi-year rebuilding effort on more than 5 miles of pavement, replacing bridges, installing retaining and noise walls, and building a state-of-the-art drainage tunnel between M-102 (Eight Mile Road) and 13 Mile Road. To view the public meeting materials after the event and to learn more about the I-75 modernization project, visit www.modernize75.com.

MDOT to host virtual meeting | News, Sports, Jobs

Apr 13, 2021
HOUGHTON — The Michigan Department of Transportation and the city of Houghton will hold a hybrid virtual public meeting from 5-5:30 p.m. Wednesday to discuss the 2021-22 U.S. 41 — Townsend Drive and College Avenue — rebuilding project in Houghton.
This meeting immediately precedes a regular Houghton City Council meeting. People can attend in person or participate on Microsoft Teams. There will be a short presentation at 5 p.m. followed by a question-and-answer period.
Beginning this spring, MDOT will invest $9 million to rebuild 1.1 miles of U.S. 41 from McInnes Drive to Isle Royale Street. The work will include converting the four-lane boulevard section to two lanes with designated turn lanes at major intersections, widening College Avenue to add a center left-turn lane, storm sewer improvements, and city sanitary sewer and water main replacements. One-way detours are planned during each summer for this project. Work is expected to be completed in fall 2022.

MARQUETTE — The Michigan Department of Transportation and Marquette Township officials will hold a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. April 20 to discuss the upcoming U.S. 41/M-28 rebuilding project.
The presentation will provide information on a $9.2 million project to resurface nearly three miles of highway and build a non-motorized pathway in Marquette Township, with work scheduled from May to November. There will be lane closures, night work and local detours through this period, according to MDOT.
As this area is the busiest route in the Upper Peninsula — with traffic counts of up to 33,000 vehicles daily — efforts will be taken to minimize the impact of traffic flow during heaviest traffic periods, officials said.
