Brazilian authorities Monday said during a press conference in Manaus that they had nearly solved the murders of British reporter Dom Phillips and indigenous affairs expert Bruno Araújo Pereira, which were perpetrated on June 5, last year, in the middle of the Amazon jungle.
A third suspect has been arrested in connection with the deaths of British journalist Dom Phillips whose sister is from Lancaster, and Indigenous expert Bruno Pereira in Brazil, federal police said.
The speedboat was submerged about 20m deep under the Itacoai river in the Amazon rainforest in northern Brazil with the help of six sandbags, authorities said in a press statement.
