KUANTAN: The Pahang government is not compelling the public to take the Covid-19 vaccine injection and is only asking that they sign up for it first. Following the circulation of an announcement to that effect, state secretary Datuk Seri Dr Sallehuddin Ishak cleared up the matter, saying that the Pahang government would comply with the Federal Government s policy of not making vaccination mandatory. There s a lot of noise on social media asking why the state government is forcing the people to register. Firstly, the state government will not force anyone to take the vaccine. It s a personal choice. Secondly, the vaccine is dispensed to each locality, district and vaccination centre based on registration. ....
KUANTAN: Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has appealed to the public to follow Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) while celebrating Hari Raya Aidilfitri. He said this year s Aidilfitri would be the second time it was celebrated in a situation where the world, the country and the state were still in the grip of the Covid-19 pandemic. In fact, the rate of transmission is still worrying. Among the causes is the growing neglect by some of the SOP set by the National Security Council and the Health Ministry. Believe me, no one wants this pandemic to continue in our community as well as our lives. ....
He said of that number, 115,726 are under phase two of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme. Registration through the Pahang Covid-19 Immunisation System (SICP) recorded 270,162 names, which would be handed over to MySejahtera to avoid overlapping data, he added. The number is still low, at least 24.4% through SICP and 32.8% through MySejahtera compared to the target of 1.108 million people or 70% of Pahang s population, he said after inspecting the phase two vaccination progress at Wisma Belia here on Monday (April 19). Wan Rosdy said the low registration could be due to the geographical challenges especially for people in rural areas and also the wait and see attitude of some. ....
