SRINAGAR: The BSF on Saturday said they foiled a drone intrusion bid by Pakistani troops in the Arnia sector along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir.
“During the early morning hours today, two drones/UAVs were observed entering from the Pakistan side. They were immediately fired upon by BSF troops deployed along the IB. The border guards firing compelled the drones/UAVs to retreat back to Pakistan territory,” he said.
According to the BSF spokesman, despite the existence of a border ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, Pakistan Rangers did not stop their nefarious activities against India.

The National Investigation Agency team on Sunday visited the spot where the alert troops of Border Security Force unearthed a terror tunnel that started from the Shakkargarh district of Pakistan and entered into Kathua district of Jammu. The visit came after security agencies shared vital inputs that the mastermind of Pathankot airbase attack Qasim Jan was spotted in the same area some time ago. Qasim Jan was in the same area before the fidayeen attack was carried out on the Pathankot Airbase in the year 2016.

BSF detects yet another tunnel in the Pansar area of Hiranagar sector, between Border Post Number 14 and 15, ahead of Republic Day. The tunnel is around 150 metre long and 30 foot deep and it appears to be at least 6 to 8 years old. This is fourth such tunnel detected in the last six months.
A spokesperson of the BSF said that, It is pertinent to mention here that BSF had shot down a Pakistani Hexacopter carrying a load of weapons and ammunition in June 2020 in the same area.
He further added that, BSF troops had also foiled an infiltration bid in the same area in Nov 2019 wherein BSF troops had fired upon the party trying to infiltrate into India.
