shut down some of the major arteries in and out of palm sprengs knowing that those are roads that typically turn into not only severe flooding situation. but in some cases rushing rivers even after just a half an inch of rainfall in a short period of time here. so those major arteries not only barricaded but some have police officers on either end of those closures trying to keep people from driving through. especially those low-lying roads that move over those washes, that s where all of that mountain runoff really becomes a dangerous situation and can sweep a car away within seconds jon. so really this is the peak and the brunt of hilary that we re feeling right now in palm springs. we already know some evacuations have been ordered in places like san bernardino county. it really only takes a couple of inches of water to just sweep you away especially if it is fast moving. so i know this summer we had a lot of runoff rain melt from white
