That didn t even happen. now you re seeing that this plane, this airline that i think almost a million and a half dollars has now gone into their pockets has direct connections to a congressman in the panhandle, congressman gaetz as well as his and let s also not forget this too, larry keith is matt gaetz law partner. before matt went to congress, and the amount of corruption and intertwining between all of these players needs to be investigated. we are just at the very beginning of trying to unravel all of this. thank you to all of the reporters out there who are doing their jobs. we have been unable to get records, so god bless anybody who s able to get records from ron desantis s administration. that s a lot to do when the top concern is trying to help the folks particularly in lee county in all of the areas that were so hard hit. ....

Started to go into the barrier island of fort myers beach. we are just across from the bridge and as you can see, this is a boat that is just littered with debris and actual structures, you see actual homes and businesses that have just been washed away this as officials have mentioned has been a huge water event that wind damage doesn t compare to the amount of water damage they had here and another thing they are currently assessing, looking at, is if you will recall, the path of the storm initially wasn t that it was going to hit fort myers, it was going to hit the panhandle of florida or even the tampa area, that s about 100 miles away but there was that last minute switch in the forecast ....

Instead of waiting until the day before and hit. i, thank you simone. and thank you for focusing on our area and sanibel specifically. i know that in these storms, we did provide some early warning to our residents, to consider evacuating. i know specifically for sanibel, our city council recommended that there be a volunteer evacuation ahead of the storm. and the storm was wobbling. and as it came off, the projection started to move out and away. so when you start to see those the takeaway from our part of the coast, we might get tropical storm force winds, and up into the panhandle. this happens frequently with tropical storms to pass our area. much like hurricane charlie many years ago, this one decided to turn in southwest ....

The toll stands at 78 from that storm with the number expected to rise. power is beginning to be restored as these numbers show, 78,000 customers in florida. 19,000 in north carolina, 7900 in virginia, and 1200 in south carolina. joining me now is jared moscow, it s florida s former emergency management director and the 23rd congressional district. welcome, glad to have you talk here about this. i know you saw oversaw the emergency response division. gauge for us the severity of hurricane ian. how does it compare to the other storms you have responded to? yeah, looks good to be with you. i mean. the severity is significant because of the size of the storm and the size of the eye wall in addition to the strength. years ago we had the category five storm in the panhandle, everybody will number the pictures of what mexico beach looked like. ....

A lot of these agencies, like southwest florida, they were all preparing to go help tampa in st. pete a week ago when this stuff on monday they were making preparations to actually do that. things change. and now you have people from tampa, the panhandle coming down to this part of florida. and so i think people have really pulled together. i think that they ve done a really good job. there s a lot of work ahead, obviously, but i think the resilience has been great. friday morning in cape coral, which is very close to ground zero where the hurricane hit, you had publix open, things are springing back. i doubt you would have seen that in some of these other major storms that we ve seen over the past 20, 30 years in this country. and so i think the spirit is great and i do think people pulled together well. we re going to head back over to the and that was my colleague speaking with governor ron desantis there asking questions ....
