to be lining the parade route and for the balloons themselves. you know, there have been guidelines in effect since 1997 when a large balloon at the parade hit a lamp post and caused four injuries. including a very serious injury to a woman who was in a coma for a month. these guidelines say that they can t fly those large balloons when sustained winds exceed 23 miles per hour and gusts are over 34. tomorrow, they are predicting gusts of 25 to 35 miles per hour in new york city. so, parade officials are going to have to make a call sometime tomorrow morning before that parade starts at 9:00 a.m. eastern time. 16 massive balloons expected to fly and roughly three dozen smaller balloons. those could still fly. obviously the safety is a primary concern, but could be a disappointment for a lot of folks tomorrow at that macy s thanksgiving day parade, harris. rick leventhal, thank you very much. let s go to rick reichmuth right now. chief meteorologist i want to ask you first what the tem
