Shares of Paramount Communications rose 5 per cent, locked in the buyer's circuit limit for the day, to Rs 110.07 on Thursday, commanding a total market capitalization of close to Rs 3,100 crore.
The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 561.05 points to 70,939.71. The Nifty plunged 165.6 points to 21,406.35.
BSE's Sensex surged 969.55 points, or 1.37 per cent, to settle at 71,483.75. NSE's Nifty50 gained 273.95 points, or 1.29 per cent, to end the day at 21,456.65 for the day.
Shares of Paramount Communications were locked in the buyer's circuit of 5 per cent to Rs 65.75 on Wednesday, commanding a total market capitalization of more than Rs 1,550 crore.
