A Bay Area city official is calling an anonymous, racist attack on her “totally unacceptable.”
Jackie Elward, the vice mayor of Rohnert Park in Sonoma County, received an anonymous phone call Tuesday in which a resident verbally harassed her after she voted to ban fireworks just days before. The caller, she said, used an anti-Black slur and told her “to go back to Africa.”
According to KCBS, she was the deciding vote on a ban on firework sales and use in the Bay Area city a vote she made due to concerns over fire safety in the area. ....
