박찬호 "'굿 머치 토커'로 현장의 감동 전달할 것" : 100세시대의 동반자 브릿지경제

‘코리안특급’ 박찬호가 ‘2020 도쿄올림픽’ KBS 야구 해설위원으로 활동할 포부를 밝혔다.
7일 오전 온라인을 통해 진행된 ‘2020 도쿄올림픽 KBS 방송단’ 기자간담회에서 박찬호는 “2008년 베이징 올림픽에서 우리 선수들이 금메달을 획득했을 때 미국에서 활동하면서도 자긍심과 뿌듯함을 느꼈다. 이번에 올림픽 해설자로서 후배들이 다시 한번 금메달을 따는 모습을 보고 싶고, 그 감동을 현장에서 느끼며 국민들께 전달하고 싶어 참여했다”고 말했다.
평소 ‘투 머치 토커’라고 불리는 박찬호는 중계 콘셉트에 대해 “우려가 크겠지만 이광용 캐스터도 있으니 이번에는 ‘굿 머치 토커’로 가보겠다. 후배들이 활약하는 모습을 빠르게, 좋은 메시지로 전달하겠다”고 포부를 드러냈다.
이광용 캐스터는 “마음속 영웅 박찬호와 중계를 함께한다는 것만으로도 큰 의미가 있다. 함께 연습을 많이 하고 있다”며 “이전에 박찬호가 WBC(월드베이스볼클래식)나 아시안게임 중계하는 것을 보셨던 분들은 이번 중계를 보면 깜짝 놀라실 것이라고 감히 말씀드린다”고 전했다.
한편 코로나19 확산 여파로 1년이 늦게 개최될 ‘2020 도쿄올림픽’은 7월 23일 개막해 오는 8월 8일 폐막한다.
