Success stories that are hitherto little known to the Sabah public were highlighted at the 10th Anniversary Dinner of Sabah Environmental Trust (SET) themed ‘Strengthening Partnership in Conservation’, held last Saturday at the Tanjung Aru Shangri-la Resort & Spa. The occasion to commemorate SET’s decade existence and achievement also saw the launching of a book entitled “The Journey Going the Distance” authored by Datuk Verus Aman Sham. Speaking at the dinner, SET Board of Trustee Chairman, Verus paid tribute to SET’s three patrolling squads based in three different stations formed in line with its founding objectives. “These squads, well trained an well equipped, have been successful in making more than 50 arrests of wildlife offenders in collaboration with State enforcement agencies,” he noted. “There were many caught red handed.”
