Like Apple, Facebook has been Granted 2 Patents in August relating to Future Accessories for High-End Mixed Reality Headsets

Earlier this month, Patently Apple posted a couple of Apple's granted patents relating to possible future Mixed Reality accessories in the form of rings and standalone finger mounted devices and/or a glove. Likewise, Facebook was granted two interesting patents about mixed reality eyewear and accessories they're working on. To be sure, the coming Apple vs. Meta war for market dominance in the advanced mixed reality headset space is going to be an exciting one to follow.

With Samsung predicting that 50% of their premium smartphones will be foldables by 2025, will Apple step in to challenge them?

There was a rather big build up to Samsung's Unpacked Event last week. The hype, however, didn't quite materialize when it came to their next-gen Foldables. Though like Apple's iPhone, each generation presents fans with a series of nice refinements and not much in terms of advancing the form factor.

Samsung is developing a Smart Ring that differs from Apple's in that it will act as a universal Remote for a Plethora of Devices

Apple was the first big tech company to apply for a smart ring patent. They filed for the patent in 2014 and it was published by the U.S. Patent Office in October 2015. Our report today covers a Samsung smart ring patent. The focus of the patent isn't for a future MR Headset like Apple's, but rather as a universal remote for a plethora of devices

While Apple began working on Sleep Monitoring systems in 2017, USPTO just published Google's first patent for their 'Sleep Sensing' technology

Apple acquired Beddit back in 2017 and has been filing patents since that time to advance sleep monitoring systems. In 2020, Apple introduced Sleep Tracking with iOS 7. Apple recognized early on that sleep monitoring could play an important part of their new focus on personal health care. Now Google wants in on this market and introduced their sleep monitoring system last year. Our report covers Google's sleep monitoring patent that takes an indirect kick at Apple's approach.
