A Michigan city has been dismissed from a lawsuit over the fatal police shooting of a Black motorist.
The City of Grand Rapids was removed from a lawsuit filed in December of 2022 by the family of Patrick Lyoya who was killed by a police officer.
According to US District Court Judge Paul Maloney, attorneys failed to provide sufficient evidence that alleged patterns within GRPD constitute liability in Patrick Lyoya's death.
