VALPARAISO — The City Council’s job of narrowing the list of candidates for a seat on the Valparaiso School Board became easier when one of the candidates, Malorie Medellin, dropped out. VALPARAISO — The next City Council meeting will feature restaurateurs making their pitches for a valuable downtown liquor license. Cleveland-Cliffs, one of the Calumet Region's largest industrial employers, forecasts it will pull in about $3.5 billion in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization this year if prices hold up.
