The family of Stanley Davis III has filed a federal lawsuit against the City of Boynton Beach and former police officer Mark Sohn, alleging Sohn violated Stanley Davis III’s civil rights when he chased him on Dec. 26, 2021, ultimately leading the boy to crash on his dirt bike and die.
Boynton Beach Police Officer Mark Sohn, a 20-year veteran of the department, has been identified by Ben Crump as the officer who Stanley Dale Davis III was fleeing from on his new dirt bike the day after Christmas. Police records show Sohn had been previously disciplined for violating the department's vehicular pursuit and apprehension policy and was involved in two other pursuits where people died.
