Fire Department Battle Blaze At One-Story Bungalow SANTA MONICA—A fire happened at a one-story bungalow on Wednesday, May 12, at 5:21 p.m. No residents or first responders who arrived on the scene were injured during the fire. Firefighters responded to the blaze at 1833 18th Street. Firefighters from the Santa Monica Fire Department arrived at the residence and immediately entered the building to search for victims and extinguish the fire. Firefighters Respond to Fatal Traffic Collision May. 07, 2021 at 1:00 pm On Wednesday evening May 5, at 10:24 p.m. Santa Monica Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a Traffic Collision on the eastbound Interstate 10 Freeway, east of the Centinela Ave. off ramp. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a significant two vehicle collision with five victims, two of which required specialized rescue tools to extricate from the wreckage.
