New Magnetic Material Could Mean More Efficient Electric Aircraft Motor

Australia's Kite Magnetics says its new Aeroperm magnetic material will support the development of smaller, lighter and more efficient electric motors for aircraft. It is starting work on a 60 kW motor for light aircraft and plans to scale up the power rating to one-megawatt for regional airliners.
