A Jamesburg man has been sentenced for his involvement in a crash resulting in the death of Cory Holsten, 25, of the Dayton section of South Brunswick.
Peter Prete, 59, of Jamesburg, was sentenced by the Honorable Andrea Carter to an aggregate 11 years in prison on one count of second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash resulting in death, and one count of third-degree hindering his own apprehension, according to information provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Raymond J. Hayducka of the South Brunswick Police Department on Jan. 5. ....

Driver who left scene of fatal motorcycle crash sentenced to over a decade in prison

A man who admitted last year to leaving the scene of a crash that left a 25-year-old motorcyclist dead in South Brunswick was sentenced to eleven years in prison, the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and South Brunswick Police announced Tuesday in a joint statement.
Peter Prete, 59, of Jamesburg, pleaded guilty on Jan. 31, 2020 to second-degree knowingly leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash resulting in death and one count of third-degree hindering his own apprehension, the office said. Once he is released from prison, Prete faces a one-year loss of his driver’s license for having left the scene of the crash. ....
